IKEA & Facebook: A different way of using social media

Lets face it. When it comes to advertising on social networking sites such as Facebook, it's not uncommon to see cheap banner ads, requests to 'become a fan', or to add a 'page' created by some company. The problem comes when people aren't that interested in becomming a fan because they ask themsleves, "Is it worth it? What's in it for me?" Sooner or later he/she will more than likely end up hiding the updates.
So how did IKEA solve this problem? How did they get people to personally promote their company without even realizing it? Check out the video below. It's pretty brilliant.
