Pinterest: Lust or Love?

Both. I can't tell you how obsessed I am with Pinterest. Regardless if a large percentage of the demographic are women, I think they're on to something good.

LUST:

It's kind of a naughty word, but I lust pinterest. When I look at the pins of those I follow, my eyes get wider, my heart beats a little faster, and a little saliva runs down the corner of my mouth. Well, maybe not the last part but I can't deny the other two.

Who can deny me looking at sexy typography in Typophilia, drool over luscious recipes in Mangiare, gaze upon golden beauties in Credit Suisse, read daring quotes in Written Word or look at hot packages in Salon de Emballage? Nobody! I'm in deep.

LOVE:

I love the the fact that my aesthetic, identity, and personal style have been collected in one organized space. The best part? Probably the fact that I get a better picture of who I am. I know that was deep, but hear me out.

With an insatiable craving of visual stimulus and slightly ADD-ish qualities, Pinterest has not only organized me, shown me who I am, but what I can become. It's like the Myers-Briggs of the over-stimulated mind of an artist. You pin and pin and pin, like! Comment, connect, create boards, and pin! After the pixel particles have settled, you can sit back and take in everything. There's that same moment of wonder you felt when you discovered your four letters!

Of course the question now begs: what next? What can I do with this new found revelation, knowledge and pinspiration?
